Smoke Ring with Lace Edging
Another beautiful wimple.  This pattern has 2 sizes - 22" [24"] circumference and 18" length, 300 [325] yards laceweight or fingering weight yarn, 5½ sts/inch, size 6 US/4.0 mm.

Knitting is begun with a strip of lace edging, then stitches are picked up and knit in the round in another lace stitch pattern. A decorative bind off completes the knitted tube.

Silk Smoke Ring

Knitted circularly as a tube, this beautiful smoke rings will lie on your shoulders as a dressy cowl neckline, or can be pulled over your head to wear as a wimple.

Although the lace pattern looks complicated, the stitch sequence is
repetitive and relatively easy to do.  The scalloped edge occurs naturally in the knitting, and is not an extra step.

Sized for Small [Medium,Large]. Planned finished measurements:
Circumference - 22 ¼ [24, 25 ¾]"; Length - 17 [18, 19]";. Allow 525 [600, 680] yards of lace or fingering weight yarn.

Wisps of Smoke Ring
A simple tube with a wide scalloped edging, to be worn as a neck ring or a hood. 
Tips for using yarn that has been pre-strung and plied with beads included.

Instructions for 3 sizes: adult sm, med, lg.
Made in coordinating yarns with similar DK/worsted weight gauges: main yarn  230[250, 280] yds, and accent yarn that is pre-strung and plied with beads - 80[90, 110] yds.

Size US 7 / 4.5 mm needles suggested for gauge of 18 stitches per 4 inches over stitch pattern blocked. Written stitch instructions.

Wisps of Smoke Ring   $6.50

Soft Cabled Moebius Scarf
A reversible eyelet cable-look stitch pattern makes a soft contour about your head and neck. This continuous one-sided surface is formed from a rectangular piece of knitting. It is simply a loop with a half twist that will rest comfortably folded about your head or neck. Use any yarn.

As a rule of thumb, plan for 3 - 50g balls in sport to bulky weights, 2 - 50g balls in finer weights. Written stitch instructions.

Thinking of You Scarf

Say "I'm thinking of you" with a hand knit scarf of lace hearts. Simple and quick to knit on just 29 stitches.

The scarf begins with a wavy eyelet rib stitch symbolizing the twists and turns of life, and ends with a band of interlocking hearts to express the bonds of loving friendship and support.

Allow 175 yards of worsted weight yarn for 5" x 58" scarf, or desired length with yardage adjustment. 4 ½ stitches/inch, size US 7 / 4.5 mm needles suggested.  Both written and charted instructions included.

Lovely knitted lace stole pattern easily adapts to the width you fancy, from narrow neck scarf, medium width shoulder wrap, or wider shawl and sofa throw styles.

Widths from 10" to 52", lengths from 60" to 72". Laceweight or  fingering weight yarn, 350 yards (smallest) to 1800 yards ((largest).

Lacy Serpentine Scarf

This scarf is knit along its length in a subtle lace pattern.
You merely cast on for one side of the scarf, and work the
easily memorized stitch pattern in long rows.

The main stitch pattern has only three different patterned
rows, so the rhythm is quickly learned and enjoyed.
Before you know it, you have knit across the scarf and are ready to bind off!
Allow 350 yards of lace or fingering weight yarn for 9" x 71" scarf, or desired length or width with yardage adjustment.
4¼ sts/inch in pattern, size 4 US/3.5 mm needles.

Maple Leaves Scarf
This is a delicate long rectangular scarf in knitted lace.
The silhouettes of yarn overs in the main pattern stitch resemble maple leaves.

As with the other lace scarf patterns in the HeartStrings collection, there is a pretty lace border pattern that is knit at the same time as the center lace pattern. Easy to knit on just a few stitches, and enjoyable to wear in a variety of ways

Like many of these lace patterns, this scarf can be knit with any yarn, but the one shown in this photo used about 400 yards fingering or lace weight yarn.  Dimensions 11" x 60"

Triangles within Triangles Shawl
A simple triangular shawl that starts with just a few stitches at the center neckline, and increases in pattern to create the triangle shape.

Since the knitting is stockinette stitch-based, this design uses a rate of increase that is slightly more than the typical "every other row" rate so that the resulting shape retains a pleasing width-to-length ratio.

Scotch Thistle Lace Stole

This beautiful shawl is a flowing sequence of leaf and flower motifs symbolic of the regal Scotch thistle.

Knitted in two pieces, then joined at the middle by an easy method that does not require grafting, the seam is nearly invisible.

Finished size 15" by 60". 550 yards fingering weight yarn. Size 6 US (4 mm) needles suggested or size to give blocked gauge of 5½ stitches per inch over lace pattern
